Ambleside
In the City of Edmonton's 2012 municipal census, Ambleside had a population of 2,328 living in 1,358 dwellings,[7] an 838.7% change from its 2009 population of 248.[11] With a land area of 3.31 km2 (1.28 sq mi),[6] it had a population density of 703.3 people/km2 in 2012.[6][7]On the north side of the community is located the shopping centre the Currents of Windermere. Several major retailers, including Walmart, London Drugs, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Cabelas, and Staples all have locations in the Currents. Smaller businesses include Second Cup, Liquor Depot, Dollarama, and Swiss Chalet. A Cineplex Odeon theatre is at the center of the development.Bus service to Ambleside was established in October 2007 on Route 324 by the Edmonton Transit System during peak hours only. Bus service has since been expanded, with Route 24[12] servicing the neighbourhood during daytime hours, and Route 324 providing service later at night and on early mornings and evenings on the weekend.[13] Both routes provide ready access to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) mainline at Century Park station, which in turns provides ready access to downtown, and other areas of the city. Following ETS' 2021 route redesign, bus service instead connects Ambleside to Leger Transit Centre.The main roadway into the neighbourhood is Windermere Boulevard. There is some residential development located just to the south of this roadway east of where it intersects Terwillegar Drive. Housing construction has increased with time, with a mix of single family homes and duplexes. Cameron Heights is a neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley.It is bounded on the south by Anthony Henday Drive, on the north and west by a ravine, and on the east by the North Saskatchewan River valley. It is named for former school board member and Edmonton Town Council alderman John Cameron.[6] The neighbourhood of Wedgewood Heights is located on the north side of the ravine.The only roadway into the neighbourhood is Cameron Heights Drive from the south. The Anthony Henday provides access to destinations to the south of the city including the Edmonton International Airport.

While City of Edmonton documents note that there are diverse stories related to Scottish settlers introducing the name Ellerslie, it is known that the name was applied to the local school district by 1895, and to the local post office in 1896, when it was still a rural area many kilometers south of the early boundaries of the recently (1892) incorporated Town of Edmonton.[8]The Ellerslie neighbourhood is bounded on the south by Ellerslie road, on the north by the Anthony Henday Drive corridor, on the east by 66 Street, and on the west by 91 Street. Wernerville comprises the easternmost portion of the neighbourhood.[9][10] Immediately north of the Anthony Henday Drive is the Mill Woods area of Edmonton and the neighbourhoods of Satoo and Menisa.The most common type of residence in the neighbourhood is the single family dwelling. According to the 2005 municipal census, two out of every three residences (66%) were single-family dwellings. Row houses make up another one in five (20%) of residences followed by apartment style condominiums which make up 12% of all residences. The remaining 2% or residences were duplexes.[12] Substantially all residences in Ellerslie are owner occupied.[13]The community is represented by the Ellerslie Community League, established in 1962.[14][15]
